Advanced Connection Settings
This tab allows you to set up the proxy server and some connection settings.
Use Proxy for HTTP connections / Use Proxy for FTP connections
Specifies to connect to the Internet through a proxy server by using settings you specify.
A proxy server acts as a security barrier between your internal network and the Internet, keeping other people on the Internet from gaining access to confidential information on your internal network or your computer.
Server and Port are the proxy server values. If you are not sure what they are, either look in your browser configuration, or contact your ISP.
Proxy Needs Authorization
Switch on this checkbox if your proxy server requires the user id and password. Set the specified user name and password in this case. Ask your network administrator if you do not know what to enter to these fields.
Simultaneous connections:
Specifies the number of the simultaneous Check&Get connections for checking or exploring URLs. The more simultaneous connections you enable the more network bandwidth takes Check&Get from your network connection and the more it takes resources from your processor. The more simultaneous connections you enable the faster Check&Get checks your sites (if your network allows it of course).
Increase the number of the simultaneous connections if you have fast connection and powerful computer. Decrease this number if you have the slow connection or weak computer.
Timeout
This value specified (in seconds) for how long time the Check&Get waits for the answer of the WEB or FTP server before Check&Get break the connection and decide that the server is down.
Retry Count
This value specifies how many times the Check&Get tries to get the web page or file from the server if the connection errors break the connections.
Load Default Settings
Press this button to load the default settings from your system user profile.
